Nick Young
Environmental Program Manager, California Department of Food & Agriculture’s Fertilizing Materials Inspection Program
Nick Young is the Environmental Program Manager for the California Department of Food & Agriculture’s Fertilizing Materials Inspection Program. Nick has been with CDFA for over fifteen years and had a key role in the development of their Organic Input Material Program. Nick is a former president of the Association of American Plant Food Control Officials (AAPFCO), and he currently serves as a chairman of both the Biostimulant and the Environmental Affairs committees. This organization strives to promote consumer protection in agriculture, environmental stewardship, and regulatory uniformity. Nick studied Plant Science at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, where he later taught as an adjunct professor. His received his initial undergraduate degree from University of California, Santa Barbara. He resides in Orange County, California with his wife, two children, and two unruly Australian Shepherds dubbed, “The Terror Twins.”
