Members of the Biological Products Industry Alliance (BPIA) and many others attended the BPIA 2017 Fall Meeting and Sustainability Symposium in Orlando, Florida.

The Sustainability Consortium identifies the use of biostimulants in grains, oilseeds, produce, nuts and other specialty crops as an improvement opportunity for nutrient management.

BPIA members participated at AmericanHort’s Cultivate 17 and shared information about biopesticides and biostimulants with attendees that included growers, retailers, breeders, suppliers, researchers, and students.

Over a dozen BPIA member companies attended the 2017 Potato Expo in San Francisco. Several members participated in BPIA interviews with various media outlets from around the world discussing the growth of the biological industry and the many new products now available for potato growers.

BPIA participated in the U.S. EPA’s Safer Choice Partner and Stakeholder Summit in Washington, DC. EPA created the Safer Choice label to help residents, businesses, and communities to find products with safer ingredients.

BPIA participated in a Pesticide Registration Improvement Act (PRIA) 3 Stakeholder meeting at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention Office of Pesticides Program.

The BPIA Government Affairs Committee (GAC) sent a letter to appropriators in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives thanking them for addressing the significant public health threat posed by the Zika virus by recently passing fiscal 2017 continuing resolution (HR 5325).

During the BPIA 2016 Fall Meeting in Crystal City, keynote speaker, Congresswoman Suzan DelBene spoke to BPIA members about several issues important to the biopesticide industry.

Last week, the BPIA Plant Regulator Subcommittee met with the US EPA/Office of Pesticide Programs/Biopesticide and Pollution Prevention Division, and the BPIA USDA Subcommittee met with the Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) Branch of APHIS.
