BPIA commends Senate Agriculture Committee Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow for releasing the text of the Rural Prosperity and Food Security Act. This vital legislation underscores a commitment to bolstering U.S. agriculture, rural development, and sustainability.
BPIA is particularly pleased that the bill includes a federal definition for plant biostimulants, a significant milestone for the agricultural industry. By ensuring plant biostimulants have a clear regulatory pathway to market, the bill will promote the adoption of innovative and sustainable grower solutions that improve soil health, boost plant resilience, and enhance crop productivity.
“Chairwoman Stabenow’s leadership in including this provision reflects a forward-thinking approach to addressing the challenges faced by modern agriculture,” said John Dunmore, Director of Government and External Affairs for BPIA. “These advancements will empower growers with cutting-edge tools to meet the growing agriculture demands while prioritizing sustainability and resilience.”
BPIA urges Congress to ensure full passage of a bipartisan farm bill this year. Timely passage is critical to securing the future of American agriculture, supporting rural communities, and fostering the adoption of sustainable technologies.
We remain committed to working alongside Chairwoman Stabenow, members of Congress, and agricultural stakeholders to finalize this legislation and support its swift enactment.
