On April 27th, the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Biotechnology, Horticulture and Research held a hearing on “Federal Actions and Policies Affecting Costs of Production and Impacting the Rural Economy.” BPIA was asked to submit written testimony for the hearing. Read our testimony here.
The hearing focused on innovations and regulatory actions that are beneficial and detrimental to producers. BPIA’s testimony highlights the benefits that biologicals provide organic and conventional growers such as a minimal environmental footprint, short re-entry intervals and a means of managing pest resistance. It also discusses the industry’s contribution to the economy and outlines some regulatory challenges that may limit product adoption.
