Biological Products Industry Alliance Applauds Progress in 2024 Farm Bill Frameworks
Washington, D.C., May 2, 2024 – Biological Products Industry Alliance (BPIA) applauds the House and Senate Agriculture Committees for advancing the 2024 Farm Bill by unveiling their respective frameworks. This legislation signifies a significant stride towards bolstering our agricultural landscape, prioritizing the needs of frontline growers and consumers, and the sustainable stewardship of our natural resources.
“We are thankful for Chairwoman Stabenow for her unwavering commitment to championing the inclusion of biostimulant language in this pivotal legislation,” said John Dunmore, Director of Government and External Affairs at BPIA. “By advocating for the Environmental Protection Agency to provide clear regulatory guidance on ‘plant biostimulants’ under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act, we are embarking on a path that ensures a standardized national definition for this emerging category of agricultural products. This directive is vital in exempting non-pesticidal biostimulants from FIFRA regulation, fostering innovation and clarity within the industry.”
BPIA stands poised to collaborate with policymakers, stakeholders, non-profits, and industry partners to advance this legislation and pave the way for a more sustainable and prosperous future for agriculture in America.
