Members of the Biological Products Industry Alliance (BPIA) attended the 2018 Independent Garden Center (IGC) Show in Chicago, Illinois. This year, the Association for Garden Communicators held its 70th Annual Conference & Expo in conjunction with the IGC Show. During the week, BPIA members connected with attendees at both events and explained that over the past decade, naturally derived biological options for home, garden and residential use have been made much more available to the retail consumer through garden centers and now online offerings.
The event provided several educational opportunities for independent garden center owners and operators as well as multiple keynote speakers including Daymond John from the successful ABC television series, Shark Tank, who talked about how to grow a business based upon his 25-year entrepreneurial journey starting FUBU in the basement of his mother’s home in Queens, New York and developing it into a groundbreaking lifestyle brand with more than $6 billion in global retail sales.
BPIA’s participation was made possible by our Specialty Markets Committee and our sponsoring members Certis USA, Meister Media Worldwide, Monterey Lawn and Garden Products a division of Brandt, and Neudorff.
